Welsh Winter Walks

Winter Stillness on the Deri and Rholben

The walk felt like stepping into a postcard—crisp, biting air, and a quite a bit of snow that turned the familiar ridges of the Deri and Rholben into something truly majestic

Away from the crowds, the walk was defined by the steady crunch of frozen ground and that iconic, cone-shaped silhouette of the Sugar Loaf watching over us from across the valley. The raw beauty of the Welsh peaks and a well-earned pause mid-ridge. There is nothing quite like the simple magic of sitting on a low tree branch, hands wrapped around a steaming flask of tea, and watching the winter light shift across the hills. Proof that sometimes the best adventures aren’t about the destination, but the quiet moments in between.”
