TRAIL CAM WEEK 32

Trail cam diaries-Week 32

A weekly view of the comings and goings in the garden.

May is almost over, and thus far it has been a warm month. Daytime and night time temperatures are now in double digits, with the occasional drop to single digits. The middle and end of the week brought some much-needed rain and one or two windy days. The garden looks vibrant and the bees are buzzing. It’s time to get the vegetable seedlings planted out. Tomatoes, peppers, and courgettes are all beginning to bear fruit. Salad crops have been planted. For the first time, I’m trying to grow okra and sweet corn. I did attempt to sprout a bare root artichoke but was not successful, so I just bought an artichoke plant. I’ve become a bird watcher of sort…haha. I’m starting to notice various bird species in the garden, which makes me happy. Also added new pots to the back of the garden for flowers to try encourage pollinators. Hoping for a warm summer.
